Wine Spectator: Rated as Very good: a wine with special qualities. "Very juicy, but tightly framed and racy, with red currant, cherry and blood orange notes that drive nicely through the stone-tinged finish. Drink now." May 2012

Wired For Wine: From the Southern Rhône, and with slightly more chops than its Provencal cousins, this Les Lauzeraies Tavel Rosé is one of our go-to favorites. Pour a beautiful reddish pink glass and savor it alone as a refreshing aperitif, or with a platter of grilled chicken satay skewers and peanut sauce with a little kick. The main course possibilities are numerous, as this Tavel Rose works well with lighter fare such as poultry and seafood, as well as spicy Asian dishes, grilled pork, veal and much more. We love the perky finish and delicious fruit of this wine with a grilled pork tenderloin next to an apple/ginger chutney. (A great choice if you went apple picking last weekend...) A heaping bowl of chicken and shellfish paella will delight next to this Les Lauzeraies as well. And, its fuller body could cause rapturous delight with a generous serving of grilled shrimp slathered in anchovy butter. Refill the glasses again and enjoy them with a French Cabecou de Poitou cheese. It will bring out the minerality of this Tavel treasure and wrap up your meal with a flourish. Très bien fait!
