Tabarrini Montefalco Colle Grimaldesco Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG 2005
Region: Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG, Italy
Winery: Azienda Agricola Tabarrini Giampaolo
Variety: Sagrantino
Rating: 4
Color: Medium dark ruby with slight brick lowlights, med brick/ruby edges.
Nose: Very aromatic nose here and quite good. Leather, white pepper, worn leather, dried anise, menthol, savory meaty notes and herbs, good black dried fruit with some light raisined notes starting to come through.
Palate: Dried, finest chalky tannins coat the mouth. Good acidity and then all of the savory herbal notes from the nose, especially the meat, dried anise and leather. Next, the fruit flows in of drier blackberry, cassis and tarter dried raspberry on the edges. Finishes meaty and tobacco, still with some dark juiciness.
