Color: Darker violet to ruby core, but not inky. Lighter violet edges

Nose: Loam and slighter charred oak, with dark fruit and pepper lurking and some earthiness

Palate: Surprisingly bright, almost racy acidity, which wasn't expected from the nose but very happily encountered and not surprising in terms of its appellation. Medium tannins lead into great red fruit here with good juiciness, some more loamy earth towards the mid-palate and just a bit of pepper creeping out at this young age in the juicy, charred and almost racy finish. Very good cool climate Syrah nicely under 15% alcohol, for the price: QPRWK
