At first straight out of the bottle the Porto had a strong bite of Alcohol on the head. The taste was also very short lived. It was sweet but the alcohol bite masked the true flavors.

2nd try was letting the Porto sit in the glass for an hour before consumption. This took the edge off of the port. Still very acidic. The aroma was much more pleasant of browned sweet sugar mixed with over ripe fruit. Berry tastes beginning to come through to the forefront. Able to taste some oak as well.

3rd tasting the Porto was left to breathe in the glass for 3 hours. This was the idea tasting. The acidic, alcohol forefront was gone. It was very very enjoyable for such a young port. A simple flavor of ripe and sweet blackberries, raspberries, grapes and cherries. On the back end of the finish there was an oak almost leather taste. The finish was still medium to short.

Overall a great young port if there is time left to let breathe for 3-4 hours.
