Ridge Vineyards Pagani Ranch Zinfandel 2004
Region: Sonoma Valley, California
Winery: Ridge Vineyards
Variety: Zinfandel, Alicante Bouschet, Petite Sirah, Carignane
Color: Dark garnet
Nose: Lots of toasty oak, this wine seems very young and not ready yet, but blackberry fruit and tannins are starting to poke through after a half hour or so.
Palate: Not yet integrated, but certainly showing some great structure and the black berry fruit is trying to take over the top part of the palate. Expensive oak is a bit overwhelming right now and not integrated, but I'd love to taste this wine in a few years.
