Piper-Heidsieck Rose Sauvage Non Vin
Variety: Rose Sauvage
PIPER-HEIDSIECK BRUT ROSE SAUVAGE CUVEE
Since 1785, Piper-Heidsieck has been producing its Brut Rosé cuvée with a concern for authenticity and quality to share the pleasure of its taste with you. By choosing to harvest and make wine separately from about fifty carefully selected vintages, Piper-Heidsieck has been able to preserve their aromatic richness. The blending of these crus with a red wine from Champagne has led to a Piper-Heidsieck Brut Rosé Sauvage with an intense pink colour and hints of small red fruit. This wine is lively, generous and intense, and is characterised by a final note that is warm and exuberant. A charming wine with delicate and enchanting accents. It gives an impression of youth and vigour but also tenderness and serenity. The ultimate in refinement.
Based on a blend of about fifty crus; the same approach to blending as that of the Brut Cuvée, with the addition of a proportion of red Champagne wine, which gives this wine not only a style typical of Piper-Heidsieck but also a distinctive colour and fruity taste. The harmony of the blend develops during a long maturing process lasting at least thirty months in the Piper-Heidsieck chalk cellars.
- The appearance: an intense colour, a clear and deep pink.
- The aroma: the first impression is fresh, suggesting the high spirit and vivacity typical of the Piper-Heidsieck style. It has a strong aroma of red fruit, dominated by the Morello cherry. This is followed by a fragrant harmony of citrus fruit, mandarins and blood oranges. The final impression leaves a hint of cinnamon.
- The taste: a lively, generous and intense wine. Its freshness is expressed by the slight tartness of red fruit, which then mellows with the aromas of macerated fruit and red plums. The final sensation is exuberant and warm.
The Brut Rosé Sauvage Cuvée is surprising to the eye and the taste buds, which it takes over with an active and energetic effervescence. Its wild character emphasises and conveys the discovery of the dominating notes of wild strawberry, mandarin, blood orange, sloe and grapefruit.
Atmosphere – Occasions:
It can be drunk as an aperitif and served at a cocktail, garden reception, an all-night party lasting up to dawn, an intimate tête-à-tête or a gathering of friends…It is also ideal for a sophisticated dinner party. In the kitchen, it can be used to prepare fish and chicken, and desserts based on red fruit…A carefully studied simplicity that will enable you to express a spontaneity full of charm.
The Piper-Heidsieck Brut Rosé Sauvage Cuvée was created by our winemaker who was elected for the sixth time (five times in succession) as “Winemaker of the Year” (œnologist and winemaker of the year) by the jury of the International Wine Challenge in London, in the category for “sparkling wines”, in 1994, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
Piper-Heidsieck recommends serving this wine at a temperature of between 9 and 11°C (ideally half an hour in a champagne ice bucket after taking it out of the cellar at about 12°).
