Nose: Big, juicy aromas of grapefruit, lemon, gooseberry and steely minerality
Palate: Quite good and a great value, very racy acidity complements those minerals in the nose and underlay the tremendous ripe fruit in the wine. Always a good steal!

Veramonte Casablanca Valley Sauvignon Blanc Reserva 2007
Region: Casablanca Valley, Chilé
Winery: Veramonte
Variety: Sauvignon Blanc
"The tension in the structure holds it firm as the wine slowly shows its gooseberry & mineral side." We'd add: "If you enjoy cool climate Sauvignon Blanc (from Sancerre, say, or South Africa), you'll jump for the gobs of citrus-y aromas & tastes in this crisp, lean, extraordinarily fresh, zesty white. Enjoy it all summer long with fish, chicken, sandwiches, bean or cous cous salads, or as a terrific & refreshing aperitif."
