Color: dark burgundy

Nose: Very spicy, with some good rustic red fruit and earthy tannin. Brightness at the end.

Palate: Quite good and an amazing value, particularly since you can find this for ~$10 at many stores in CA. Great acidity with some smokiness that isn't overwhelming, despite the heavy toast. More of that spiciness with tart cherry, cranberry and an undercurrent of some earthy black fruit. Great!
