Chimney Rock Stags Leap District Merlot 2002
Region: Stags Leap District, California

Variety: Merlot
Color: Garnet, browning edges
Nose: Aromas of herb-encrusted meat, dusty dried loam with a big blueberry core.
Palate: Silky mouth, good acidity, blue fruit with tons of even cobbler at end. Oaky still and slightly pruny fruit makes me think this was a little overripe. Finishes with with menthol and some dusty tannin, too much oak for my taste, tho.
