PVV: "60% Petit Verdot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon
This might be one of the most interesting reds in California and remarkable for its make up of grapes, of which incudes almost 80% petit verdot, then beefed up with reserve cab, all of which makes for an intriguing modern Bordeaux blend. This wine has exotic perfume, sweet spices, lavender and a purple-blue hue with a huge mouth and sublime depth and balance. Really, this is a wine that screams sexy and tingles the senses. You can almost not see anything but black in the glass, the nose is full of wildflowers, and violets leading to a palate of blackberry, olallieberry, and blueberry before some of the cabernet shines through with cassis, currant and plum fruits to savor before you get dried flowers, spice, licorice, liqueur, and mineral with a long finish of smoky vanilla cream. This wine might be my favorite of the vintage for Parsonage, and looks set to be a classic. Put a few away and you'll be rewarded, maybe a decade from now!!
