    C: Darker ruby

N: Starts off with herbal aspects, then cherry, cranberry, a little smoke and some underlying rhubarb

    Still closed.

P: Very silky textual mouthfeel, big cherry with a tart cranberry to give a more food-friendly acidity and flavor. Finishes long and with some spicy oak. Good.

    Tasted Pre-bottling from a shiner:
Color: Still with significant sediment but darker burgundy

Nose: Tremendous with tarter cherry and cranberry at first, topped by violets and rose petal, then deeper black cherry and almost vanilla root beer. I could enjoy just merely smelling this wine throughout a meal!

Palate: Med-full, great dustier tannin for this varietal with the dark red fruit of nose and with a long finish that has orange peel in the still racy acidity at this point. Then it progresses from cranberry to tart cherry, and then to ripe black cherry at the very end. Quite good and I can't wait for bottling and some months of aging to reevaluate this wine!

Tasted after a couple months in bottle, without decanting:

    Color: Medium garnet/ruby

Nose: Wonderful raspberry, but now less tart cranberry and brighter red cherry and strawberry with some toasted bread with some earth now coming through. Later with much air, the nose was spicier, with some dried black pepper.

Palate: Much more integrated with more earthier, dried red fruit that isn't as bright, but still the wine has a strong core of acidity. The finish is still developing, but has some blue fruit, loam and tannin. After 2hrs in a separate glass for extra air, the wine was even more balanced with the fruit in tune now with the tannin and great acidity.
