Color: Very dark ruby, ruby edges
Nose: Fresh and bright red fruit with a zing of wet stone, fresh tobacco and light toast.
Palate: Full, with great acidity that is still integrating. It keeps the red fruit very bright and juicy, alongside the wetter earth and spicy pepper. Tannins are bigger but fine also. Needs more time, at least 2-3 years to really blossom. Very good, tho.

Color: Darker ruby, lighter edges
Nose: Game, leather and darker, tarter red fruit. Some black underneath, with a bit of flint and char. Kind of a cinnamon spice, as well.
Palate: Medium to full mouthfeel, fully integrated tannins, great acid, leather and cherry here with some toasty and good pepper also.

Lionheart Wines Santa Barbara County Syrah 2006
Region: Santa Barbara County, California
Winery: Lionheart Wines
Variety: Syrah
Rating: 5
Color: Inky purple, with garnet edges
Nose: Nose is bright with good acidity supporting the blue and black fruit that has some menthol and spiciness.
Palate: Full and silky, this has good tannic structure, but they are already round and approachable and with a bit of game. That blue and dark fruit also has some anise and finishes long with some pepper and those dusty tannins and supported by good oak that is still being integrated. Quite good.
