"Warm, rich, smoky notes, peppery spice and lots of cassis. Rich, intense, juicy cassis fruit with earthiness on mid palate. Lengthy freshness with good balance and structure. Fresh finish." (Tasting Panel — Decanter World Wine Awards 2005 — October 2005)
Winemaker's Notes: The history of the Pichon family goes back to the Middle Ages. Since then, numerous family members have played a role in the history of Bordeaux. In 1987, AXA-Millésimes acquired the estate. The new owners completely restored the Château and installed ultramodern wine making equipment. For many years now, the estate has crafted Les Tourelles de Longueville, a wine combining the race of the soil of Pichon Longueville and the elegance of type of vines. This wine is made from grapes grown on a duly identified plot, Sainte Anne parcel, and blended with the grapes of young vines.
