Comment: When ya do the basics, and do them well, ya get three stars! Maybe even three and a quarter, 'cause I like getting hugs from my wine.

Edit to review above: I meant to say "bucking the trend of dry, steely clarity".

Very nice! Tried this on a whim, as the little store around the corner had this on sale for $7USD per bottle. I can taste some melon, and it's got a buttery, creamy finish. Thoroughly enjoyable, and an especially nice surprise at this price point!

Yellowtail Chardonnay 2006
Region:
Winery: Yellowtail
Variety: Chardonnay
This chardonnay offers sweet aromas of peach and vanilla. It presents a surprisingly full-bodied introduction, gilding its fruited center with layers of sweet butter and oak. This is a contrarian member of its class, bucking the trend of steely dryness. Rather, it is about as warm and comforting as a chardonnay can be, prompting this reviewer to muse that, "this is what it must be like to swallow a hug."
