No one wants to believe us when we tell them that they can have this wine for under 10.00 This is a hearty Cabernet Sauvignon with structure and concentration. Dark and intense in color. Hints of cedar and oak, with layers of raspberry, plum, mocha, and currant. Firm tannins with big fruit flavors lead to a lengthy and persistent finish. It's a great wine to take to dinners with family and friends. We probably don't need to say that a wine like this will work best with a hearty red meat dish, but we will any way. We can also confirm that this is the ultimate hamburger wine. - Winemaker Michael KafkaAwards & Reviews: Gold Medal, 94 Points & Best of Region! - 2003 California State Fair

I bought this wine based on it's label. SOmething I do not often do, and after this "experience" won't do again. I felt that is was a waste of a good cork, as this product barely deserves a screw-top. With it's rodent cage aroma, a hint of baby diaper and rich earthy hue, it was not a enjoyable experience. I think that I heard the sink drain gag as I poured the majority of the bottle in.

I hope that I never have to make a comment like this again, I plan to make future comments more sincere.

Not the best Cab in the world but considering its sub $8 price tag (at least locally) it is excellent for the price range. It has an earthy taste with decidedly strong fruit. I have tasted Cab's at 3 times the price that weren't as good.

Doinysus' Sponsor, you mind if I do a "best of DS" of your comments and notes?

This was a great wine when I could get it for $8, but I last saw it for $12. An OK wine at that price.

I used to drink this regularly a few years back, but as the years moved on so did the flavor. It was one of the best under $10 wines for some time then it all changed and not for the better. Finally gave up on it, but still buy a bottle now and then just to check ... haven't been impressed yet.
