Color: garnet

Nose: Great red fruit with some nice toasty oak and red cherry. Really just leaps from the glass, we could smell it when he poured the wine, before we even brought it up to our nose!

Palate: Interestingly, this is a single vineyard wine (Truchard Vineyard) from Carneros, but the label mentions neither designation. Beautiful wine, a bit too young at the moment, yet as mentioned above, the nose still leaps out at you. Good earthiness accompanies that red fruit and it has surprising acidity for a Cab Franc (that cooler Carneros region can help with that). Great structure overall, actually. I love Cab Francs and this is a great one.
