In 2006 we produced our first rosé from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (of course) but also with the addition of a tiny amount of Cabernet Franc. Like many people, I find this to be the ideal summer wine, with plenty of fresh acidity, but enough skin contact to give it deeper color and some backbone. That Bell Mountain vineyard spice is the perfect foil to any post-Labor day worries that the summer is over. Open up a bottle and enjoy with that late summer barbecue.
