Users Who Logged This Wine

Named after owners Joyce Black and Jerre Sears, this vineyard supplies Highlands Winery, Elyse Winery, Turley Cellars, and dCubed with some of the most outstanding Zinfandel fruit in the Napa Valley. With a distinguished profile redolent of blackberries and black pepper, Black-Sears’ signature is often easy to spot at blind tastings. Full-bodied yet dignified, this wine is typical of the high altitude Howell Mountain appellation.

Color: Dark garnet

Nose: Blueberry, cherry and black pepper nose, with wonderful depths of red fruit underneath, some dust

Palate: Quite good. Very balanced, with the organic mountain fruit contributing more round tannic structure than you might anticipate. More of that blue and red fruit, with a dusty, just picked strawberry finish.
