Black-Sears Zinfandel was picked and crushed on October 11th, arriving ripe and beautiful. This Zinfandel provides more serious intensity that the varietal usually offers. The vines are middle-aged, yet they produce a wine character that reminds me of some 100-year-old vineyards. It has loads of cherries and currants, terrific balance and dryness and a silky texture. It is at its peak now but will drink well for several years.
