While the Chase Zin was aged inAmerican Oak for an extended period, I used newer French Oak forthis wine, with a much shorter aging regimen. When you firstapproach the wine, it resembles the Chase Vineyard Zin, with a deepgarnet color with classic zinfandel notes of spice, ripe plum andcinnamon on the nose. As you taste, you’ll begin to see differencesas a more predominant plum, tobacco and raisin flavor offers somedistinction, topped with vanilla.
