This 100% Cabernet Franc is very complex with spicy, floral overtones and lots of extract. In the nose, notes of nutmeg, black pepper and tarragon mingle with rose, melon, exotic tea and sandalwood aromas. It has a deliciously deep, fruit-forward quality with flavors of blueberry, raspberry and black cherry and hints of toasty oak and roasted pecans in the background.Cabernet Franc is typically used in Bordeaux blends to add aromatics and this vintage is especially aromatic. The vineyard is on the valley floor near Yountville and the grapes are sustainably grown. The fruit hangs until very ripe giving the wine a lush, rich character--the ideal complement to barbequed steaks and chops.
