In the glass, the 1999 Chianti DOCG is a deep ruby red color. The nose exhibits a floral bouquet of violets with hints of cherry jam. On the palate, flavors of spices and red fruit are balanced by a fresh, crisp acidity. The tannins are smooth in this medium-bodied wine and the finish is long.
