We have begun to be quite well known for our second label Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon. The IV Sons is always delicious, full of mouth-watering red fruit flavors and aromas of violets and freshly picked blackberries. We tried aging the wine in 5% American Oak which gave the wine hints of vanilla bean and white chocolate. In 2004, there is about 3% Estate Cabernet Franc in the blend to add length and complexity to the wine. IV Sons is hard to resist now, but will age well for 5 to 7 years. 778 cases produced.

Color: Deep garnet

Nose: Rich and big but balanced with fruit, oak and tannin all coalesced. Black and red fruit abound, with some mintiness. More fruit-forward than their other first label Cab offerings.

Palate: Chocolate and black fruit with wonderful silky tannins in the full body. Has more cassis and some red fruit towards the long finish. Unbelievable that this wine is retailing so low, and I love it...but it's sold out!
