Good 'ol standby. Most of the best parts of both a Cab and a Shiraz. Value. Big in the mouth. Does very well left open for a while.

he 2006 Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet is plump with ripe, juicy forward fruits and seductive textured tannins. It's priced right, too, and finishes with complex white pepper typical for Shiraz. The name Koonunga Hill comes from a classic Barossa Valley vineyard used in the production of "Grange," one of Penfolds top scoring wines. A steal in today's economy, I fully expect it to sell out nationally. Serve it up with rich meaty dishes.

Needs a good amount of decanting / breathing to really shine.

Decanted for over an hour, we had this wine alongside gouda, parmesan and some apple flavoured ancient cheddar. Very good.
