Tasting Notes
The Greg Norman Estates Chardonnay 2005 is pale straw in color with green hues. Aromas of peach and melon gain complexity with subtle oak notes. These fruit aromas develop across the creamy and smooth palate, supported by subtle oak nuances.
Grape Source
The fruit for this wine was sourced from premium vineyards across Victoria. The 2005 vintage began with a cool, wet spring, followed by extremes of temperature in February. By autumn, however, the weather had settled providing perfect ripening conditions resulting in grapes with excellent flavour and great natural acidity.
Vinification
Partial barrel fermentation combined with secondary malolatic fermentation produced a wine with creamy texture and fresh citrus flavours. These were further developed by aging in seasoned French oak.
Cellaring
Excellent drinking now but will reward careful cellaring for 3-4 years.
