I am a big KJ fan. I like everything they produce, with the Cabernet Sauvignon at the top of the list. I'll even drink their white wine. The zinfandel is second fiddle only to the Cab, which is why it's usually $4 less. What makes it unique is that it has sort of the "perfect body" of a zinfandel plus a little bit of a buttery hint of an aftertaste, which makes it as good as the Cab with a steak. That's handy to remember when you're in a restaurant and you are choosing between $50 for the KJ zin or $75 for the KJ Cab. Save the $25 and buy a case of rubbers for all the 'tang this wine is gonna land you.
I don't want to devalue my 5-star ratings, so I am reluctant to give it 5 stars after giving the Parducci my top billing for value and taste, but I just can't give it 4 either... so 5 it is.
