I will add that every one of Puffeney's wines, from the seeming backwater of the Juras region of France, is strikingly distinctive, powerful, yet oddly refined at the same time. They don't cost a lot because I think they are not to the international taste, the whites being a bit oxidized. I happen to love that old-fashioned aspect of "the Pope of the Arbois'" wines, which are imported by the inimitable Mad Rose Group. His wine made of the melon queue variety is luscious and more approachable, I think.
