Ok, the verdict is in. I have to give this a 5.
The best way I can describe this is that it tastes just like Champagne, only better. There was less of an aftertaste than any Champagne I've drunk before, and the taste just seem... better. (I'm bad at this review stuff.)
However at $130 a bottle, there is a lot of motivation to find something cheaper. I typically drink bottles of sparkling wine which are in the $15-$30 range. I've been told I can get that Dom taste for much less than $130. Any suggestions?

A very good champagne, but there was something missing. Right out of the bottle it is a little flat footed. Light straw color that opens up as it sits in your glass. It is very smooth after about 5 minutes. Not on the same level as the Veuve La Grande Dam 1996, which is perfect from the first to last sip. At about the same price level, so I would choose the La Grande Dam if I was going to drink right away, but I will consider buying a bottle of this Dom and letting it sit for another 5-10yrs.

Kim and I are about to pop the cork on our bottle of Dom Perignon. Thank you, Mark.
I'll rate it and do a lame write up later tonight. But until then, here is an interesting website with a lot of information on Dom. It covers how to store it, how to serve it, what to serve it with, when to drink certain vintages, and other random questions.
