Just tried a sip...and yelled "Oh my God" at the top of my lungs. This wine is bad. It's an almost "putrid" taste. Actually, the taste is bad, the aftertaste is deadly. Highly recommended if you want to know how a wine shouldn't taste. Apr. 12, 2008	Ferrari-Carano Merlot 2004 Ferrari-Carano Merlot 2004 Region: Sonoma County, California, United States > Winery: Ferrari-Carano Variety: Merlot Purchased at an Italian deli in Santa Monica called Bay Cities Italian Deli. This is a pretty hot wine. Very sharp, almost over-powering. There is a little fruit on the front, though not much. There is, however, a lingering grape skin aftertaste. Overall not a bad wine. Not a wine I'd want to drink again by itself, but it'd go nicely with a thick steak or even some hot roast beef. Tasting Notes & Comments	This is a pretty hot wine. Very sharp, almost over-powering. There is a little fruit on the front, though not much. There is, however, a lingering grape skin aftertaste. Overall not a bad wine. Not a wine I'd want to drink again by itself, but it'd go nicely with a thick steak or even some hot roast beef. Smells of green apple right out of the bottle, and strictly of alcohol 30 minutes out. Green apple on the front with a lingering, almost dirt aftertaste. Very tannic. Sharp. Oak. Wow. This wine is great! It's a beautiful, full-bodied wine. Smelled like it'd be a little hot, but it wasn't. Nicely integrated wine. Fruit on the front. Smooth finish. Smells of chocolate and coffee and tannins. It's a thick and full wine. Not much fruit on the front but the aftertaste of fresh grapes is fantastic. It's pretty bad. Smells and tastes like cough syrup. Thick. Almost to the point of chewiness. Very sweet. Tastes of strawberries drenched in caramelized sugar. Smells of Granny Smiths (green apples). Sharp on the front with a smooth finish. The alcohol level is just right. The green apple is overpowering.
