Location: South Jersey

About Me: Hello all! I am a novice to the wine tasting, but so far my favorites are red wines (chambourcin, merlots, and syrah). I also like the sweeter whites like moscato and oaky chardonnays. Ethnic cooking and performing arts are my favorite hobbies. Currently I am taking bellydance classes and perform several times a year. I also do salsa and soul line dancing

A very nice red, hearty and dry. This wines tannins should let it age well, and could be cellared for 5 years or more. Aging will allow the wine to gain in complexity while the tannins become softer.

Food Pairings: Perfect to enjoy now with a big steak or a prime rib dinner.  - 02/14/2009

& Comments

About the Wine: Our Merlot is a very European styled wine. Meaning that it is more complex in flavor than a California Merlot, with more reserved fruit. The wine possesses good acidity, making it a solid candidate for cellar aging. Letting it breathe a bit before serving will open up the flavors, and increase your enjoyment of this dry red.

The Chambourcin grape is a French-American hybrid, whose parentage is a mystery that may soon be solved with DNA technology.

Our Chambourcin is smooth, mellow and well balanced, with soft tannins, nice fruit and a beautiful dark color. An excellent example of what Chambourcin can be, this vintage was aged in american oak for 6 months, giving it a little more complexity than previous vintages.

Tasting Notes
& Comments

Viognier is a lesser-known grape that deserves to be more widely recognized. Our wine is a lovely example that lets the varietal characteristics shine through, with delicious flavors of peach and apricot. It's dry, yet the fruitiness is pronounced, and leaves a warm finish. This is a flavorful white which is often appreciated by professed red wine drinkers.

About the Wine: This is our lightest dry white wine. The wine pairs remarkably well with lighter seafood dishes. With its notes of citrus, and a crisp touch of acidity, it adds to the flavor of the fish while refreshing the palate between bites. Our Pinot Grigio should be served slightly chilled.

Food Pairings: Try with poached or broiled white fish, lobster, or shrimp. - 02/14/2009

color--deep burgundy smell--cherry vanilla taste--smooth and soft on tongue, slightly sharp swallow, tastes better after decanting, not flowery--dark fruity, woody finish (strong alcohol taste was a hinderance to fully enjoying the flavor of the wine) Bouqet-pepper, black plums, toast, vanilla

0% wine aged 3 months in American oak, 60% in stainless steel for 5 months Carmenere 85%, cab sauv 10%, syrah 5% - 11/15/2008

color--ruby/orangish aroma--strawberry, taste--reminds me of the way honey feels and tastes in my mouth, very strawberryish, very faint cranberry strong alcohol taste that I didn't like I really like the strawberry taste of this wine, its not the best blush I've tasted, but its ok considering it is only five bucks.

Extravagantly perfumed, with beautiful scents of white peaches, rose, and lichee. Well-balanced with good acidity and a lingering finish of sweet and creamy peach and honeydew melon flavors. Light-bodied to enjoy as an aperitif or pair with fruit, light cheeses, sorbets (strawberry, peach, pear, or apple), and other light desserts. - 11/15/2008

This wine was great...full of a sweet cherryish flavor, with a slight hint of oakiness or vanilla. No alcohol aftertaste. Crisp feel on tongue. - 11/15/2008

The 2005 vintage is all about fresh-picked fruit taste—raspberries, cherries and strawberries—and a crispness that keeps the flavor clean and bright through to the finish. Medium in body, it’s a blush wine of uncommon poise and character, a White Zinfandel as remarkable for its fruit as it is drinkable and easy to appreciate. Enjoy on the patio with a selection of before-dinner cheeses or pair with light summer salads in balsamic vinaigrettes. - 02/14/2009
