| Oct. 2, 2007 | Provenance Vineyards Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 - This classic Napa Cab has a cedary, cigar box nose and generous, full-bodied palate that has plenty of blackberry and black current fruit underlayed with some firm tannins that promise improvement in the cellar. This is a serious "Steakhouse Wine"... just give it 30 minutes in the decanter before you put the steaks on |

| Oct. 2, 2007 | Chakana 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 - Few Argentinian wineries are doing everyday red wines better than Chakana. A case in point is the excellent, superbly-balanced, easy-drinking Cab. The nose is meaty, earthy and magnetic, while the palate is ripe, hamonious and full of cassis and raspberry. It’s fruity more than complex, with stature and style |

| Oct. 2, 2007 | Mulberry Tree 2004 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 - The outrageously good 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Mulberry Tree is a terrific bargain. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 12 months in a combination of French and American wood, is the kind of wine that makes consumers realize there is a lot of over-priced Cabernet in the marketplace. It boasts a deep ruby/purple color, an excellent texture, and notes of underbrush, black currants, tar, sweet cassis, and cedar. Full-bodied with light to moderate tannin, it can be drunk now or cellared for a decade |

| Oct. 2, 2007 | Castiglion del Bosco Brunello 2001 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 WE - Engineered as modern Brunello and deliciously successful as such. This is a wild card, new winery with little in the way of a track record and a lot to prove. But you can count on it becoming a pivotal force in a few years. Full, rich, ripe, dense and fruit-forward with feathery softness in the mouth |

| Oct. 2, 2007 | J. Lohr Arroyo Secco Chardonnay 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine cottage 10/07 - Notes of pear and butterscotch frame the nose and the palate is silky soft and rich without being viscous or heavy and just drips with flavors of ripe pear, buttery caramel and a touch of vanilla finishing smooth and long... this is oak well used |
| Oct. 2, 2007 | Beringer Private Reserve Chardonnay 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 - Smoky, toasty oak aromas lead to riper, richer fruit flavors on the palate, with a medley of ripe fig, melon, apricot and spice nuances. The flavors turn delicate and complex on the finish |
| Oct. 2, 2007 | Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 10/07 - A fruit-forward, softer, flamboyant, already seductive effort displaying gorgeous notes of chocolaty crème de cassis, some spicy, high-quality, toasty oak, a rich, plush, savory, expansive mid-palate, and a long, heady finish with elevated glycerin and plenty of sweet tannin and fruit |

| Sep. 7, 2007 | Joseph Drouhin Chorey-lès-Beaune Burgundy 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/7. WA - The Chorey-les-Beaune offers a fetching nose of high-toned cherry, almond, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Bright and refreshing on the palate, light and lithe but by no means skimping on flavor concentration, this doles out abundant sweet fruit accented by cherry pit, tart fruit skin, and invigorating salty mineral notes. It represents an amazing value |

| Sep. 7, 2007 | Jester Shiraz 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/7. From WA - The 2005 Shiraz Jester exhibits an opaque purple color along with sweet aromas of blackberries, charcoal, white chocolate, and espresso roast. Rich, full-bodied, heady, and long, it explodes on the back of the palate ( |

| Sep. 7, 2007 | Domaine "La Garrigue" Cuvee Romaine 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/7. From WA - Dense ruby/purple with terrific black cherry and black currant fruit, full-bodied essence of Provençal fruit, herbs, incense, and spice, this essentially tastes more like a Vacqueyras than a Côtes du Rhône and is beautifully ripe, full-bodied, opulent, and also vibrant, which is in keeping with this top-notch vintage |
| Sep. 7, 2007 | Simi Winery Reserve Chardonnay 2004 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/07 - Achieves the alchemy of well-toasted oak and perfectly ripe fruit to produce this luscious, creamy Chardonnay. Mangoes, papayas, pineapple custard, caramel, vanilla, it’s all there, along with crisp, balancing acidity |
| Sep. 7, 2007 | The Pines 1852 Big Red 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/07 - The Pines wines result from a collaboration between grower and owner Lonnie Wright and winemaker Peter Rosback of Sineann. The red blend has a big fruit nose that leads to a full bodied palate supported by some very supple tannins |
| Sep. 7, 2007 | The Pines 1852 Old Vine Zinfadel 2005 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/07 - The same vineyard that produces Sineann's Old Vine Zinfandel makes this thick, concentrated wine form vines now almost 20 years old. Young, tannic, thick and ripe, it's got more raw power than the Sineann, but a tad less complexity |
| Sep. 7, 2007 | Archipel Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2002 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 9/07 - This big Bordeaux blend begins with a heavily scented Cabernet nose of cedar and cassis, but reveals all it's varietals on the palate. Medium to full-bodied it displays plenty of ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit accented with notes of dark chocolate and supported by some firm, well-structured tannins that designate this as a keeper, three to five years should round it out nicely. We decanted for about 30 minutes |

| Tasting Notes & Comments |
Here is a elegant Bordeaux blend from Sonoma and Napa vineyards owned by Jess Jackson. Archipel serves as a scond label to the acclaimed Vérité and is made by winemaker Oliver Rousset. This wine is a serious cellar candidate but really drank very well after a 30 minute decant - 09/07/2007 |
| Aug. 2, 2007 | Mer Soleil Chardonnay 2004 |
| Personal Notes |
Grapevine Cottage 8/07 - This shows the ripe tropical fruit of a fine vintage, yet maintains the keen citrusy acidity that makes this vineyards Chards so balanced and ageworthy. Beneath the pineapple marmalade, apricot and caramelly oak flavors in a rich, flinty minerality that cries out for lobster. |
