Sourced by winery owner Joel Gott from vineyards throughout California (in Napa, Lodi and Amador counties), Gott's 2004 vintage fruit had a tight "set" during bloom, and small berry development during ripening. An impressively endowed offering is the big, rich 2004 Zinfandel Duarte Vineyard. There are usually fewer than 500 cases of this effort, which generally reveals southern Rhone-like garrigue characteristics along with plenty of soil overtones, fresh black cherries, and a spicy, heady finish. |

Lovely nose of pepper, lavender and black cherry, with those flavors following through to a minerally, tobacco-tinged finish. - Wine Spectator. Personally we enjoyed this wine with a wonderful squab at the Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant in Sonoma County. |
