Oct. 25, 2009	Clos Du Bois Marlstone 2004 Clos Du Bois Marlstone 2004 Region: USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley > Winery: Clos du Bois Variety: Red Bordeaux Blend Enjoyed with dinner at Bacio - Great wine, very smooth. We would buy this vintage again. A nice dark ruby color this wine had aromas of blackberry, plum and violet. There is definitely a nice sweet flora scent that is surprisingly wonderful. On the palate, this wine is smooth, with the cab flavor which is mellowed out by the merlot, petit verdot and malbec mixture. Blackberry and plum with a slightly sweet flavor evaporate in your mouth and end so smoothly you can't wait for the next sip. Light and smooth a good choice for this diverse meal. Very light in color. A nice light fruit aroma that of berries and jam. On the palette this wine is very light and smooth. Excellant for the money, smooth with little to no oak flavor. We would buy this again. A nice golden color and an aroma of citrus and apples. A very smooth and light Chardonnay that has very little oak flavor. Apple, melon and citrus flavor dominate. Aug. 14, 2009	Stag's Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Stag's Leap Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Region: California - Napa Valley > Winery: Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Variety: Sauvignon Blanc Enjoyed with Friday night sushi. Beth and I disagree on this wine. Beth thinks this wine is slightly bitter, I don't see it that way. I see it as smooth and enjoyable. A nice Sav Blanc. 2 stars for Beth, a close 4 for me, thus the 3 star rating. Nice aroma's of sweet grapefruit, lemon and pears. This wine tastes better closer to room temperature then at the typical 42degrees for a white. Flavors of nectarine, mango, grapefruit and grass. Tasting Notes & Comments	Nice aroma's of sweet grapefruit, lemon and pears. This wine tastes better closer to room temperature then at the typical 42degrees for a white. Flavors of nectarine, mango, grapefruit and grass. This wine is smooth throughout with just a hint of a bite on the finish. - 08/14/2009
Aug. 14, 2009	Cepa 21 Ribera del Duero 2006 Cepa 21 Ribera del Duero 2006 Region: Spain - Ribera del Duero > Winery: Bodegas Cepa 21 Variety: Tempranillo Saturday night dinner at home - pulled pork cacciatore, whipped sweet potatoes, and zucchini. Wow once this wine opens up you are in for a real treat. The aroma, the flavor, and the smoothness prove why this wine was rated so high. A deep purple color with aromas of blackberry, fruit, licorice and syrup. Give this wine some time to breath and it will mellow out into a smooth and flavorful fantastic wine. On the palate this wine is smooth throughout yet extremely flavorful. Rich fruits and blackberry burst throughout leaving you wanting more. Give this wine some time to breath and it will mellow out into a smooth and flavorful fantastic wine. On the palate this wine is smooth throughout yet extremely flavorful. May. 8, 2009	Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc 2007 Region: Napa Valley, California > Winery: Cakebread Cellars Variety: Sauvignon Blanc Mother's day weekend hanging out enjoying good wine and good sushi. We both thought the Cakebread was smooth and delicious. Very light in color this wine gives off and aroma of citrus, lemon and grass. On the palate this wine ie slightly acidic, yet very light. Both Beth and I agree this wine goes down so smooth the bottle is gone before you know it. Sweet melon, grass, and citrus on the nose, this wine has a fresh aroma. Tons of flavor hit you on the first sip. Flavors of melon and apricot are present throughout, with an extremely smooth finish that leaves you wanting more. If you are looking for a quality Sauvignon Blanc this wine is for you. Not quite as good as the 2006 as it is slightly sharper. However this is one of the best Sauvignon Blanc's you can purchase. Flavors of melon and apricot are present throughout, with an extremely smooth finish that leaves you wanting more. If you are looking for a quality Sauvignon Blanc this wine is for you. All enjoyed. A dark rich ruby color, this wine had a nice aroma of black cherry, cocoa, and oak. A very rich texture gave way to flavors of oak, earth, smoke, and cola. We both enjoyed this mellow smooth Montepulciano. An aroma of plum and almonds. A very soft start leads to a strong finish.
