Oct. 28, 2007	Owen Roe "Abbots Table" 2006 Owen Roe "Abbots Table" 2006 Region: Columbia Valley, Washington > Winery: Owen Roe Variety: Bordeaux blend aromas of cedar, plum, blackberry, and earth all of which developed as the wine opened up and softened. a tad bit disjointed, with the flavors not quite hanging together fully yet, but it was still plush and easy to drink as long as you gave it some air in the glass. - 10/28/2007 More than half of the blend of Abbot’s Table is the non-traditional Bordeaux - Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Blaufrankish, Syrah, and Sangiovese that make this wine so drinkable - the Bordeaux varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec add polish and charm. Varietal fruit and earth spice aromatics lead straight into flavors of the same profile on the palate, where they are supported by good tannin and balanced acidity. This wine really 'grows up' in the glass, so enjoy the show as sweet strawberry and country earth become darker and more sensuous versions of themselves over the span of a couple hours. - 10/27/2007		3/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5
