Aug. 2, 2008	Diseno Malbec Diseno Malbec Region: Mendoz, Argentina > Winery: Diseno Variety: Malbec A bit of cherry with hints of licorice followed by blueberry and chocolate. Feb. 24, 2008	Bodega Catena Zapata Malbec 2004 Bodega Catena Zapata Malbec 2004 Region: Argentina > Winery: Bodega Catena Zapata Variety: Malbec Very good but reviewers compare it to Merlot. Still a favorite of the WTC. Floral bouquet of violets, dark fruits and touches of vanilla and spice. The palate offers sweet black cherry fruit, a generous texture and marked mineral notes as well as layers of chocolate and spicy black pepper. 100% Malbec, aged 12 months in mostly French oak. - 02/24/2008		4/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5
Personal Notes	Very good but reviewers compare it to Merlot. Still a favorite of the WTC.
Tasting Notes & Comments	Floral bouquet of violets, dark fruits and touches of vanilla and spice. Feb. 24, 2008	Bodegas Caro Cabernet 2006 Bodegas Caro Cabernet 2006 Region: Argentina > Winery: Bodegas Caro Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Bright & ruby red. The group liked this wine although we could not get a complete 5 star rating. 89-91 rating. I gave it 5 stars for taste, texture and food pairing. Attractive bouquet of cedar, tobacco, damp earth, black cherry, red currants, and black currants. Supple, forward, ripe, and tasty, it conceals enough tannin to evolve for 2-3 years and will drink well through 2016. It is an outstanding value. - 02/24/2008		5/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5

Tasting Notes & Comments	Attractive bouquet of cedar, tobacco, damp earth, black cherry, red currants, and black currants. Supple, forward, ripe, and tasty, it conceals enough tannin to evolve for 2-3 years and will drink well through 2016. It is an outstanding value. - 02/24/2008
Feb. 24, 2008	Bodega Norton Malbec 2007 Bodega Norton Malbec 2007 Region: Mendoza, Argentina > Winery: Bodega Norton Variety: Malbec Young red that should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. Very impressive for such a young wine. Great for the price! This Argentine red is an impressive package for so few dollars. It's nicely sculpted and balanced, and overflows with ripe, lush flavors of dark plum, cherry and berry that echo with chocolaty notes on the lingering finish. - 02/24/2008		4/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5

Feb. 22, 2008	La Grola Allegrini Superiore 2004 La Grola Allegrini Superiore 2004 Region: Veneto > Winery: Allegrini Variety: Other Red Varietal Blend: 70% Corvina Veronese, 15% Rondinella, 10% Syrah and 5% Sangiovese. Very nice wine! Deep ruby red in color, La Grola offers a wide, embracing bouquet of wild berries, juniper, licorice, tobacco and espresso. Aged 16 months in French oak, this wine is matured for almost one year in bottle for extra finesse." Full-bodied yet silky, with juicy tannins, La Grola is the wine of choice for red meat, either roasted or in casseroles, and mellow, aged cheeses. Feb. 19, 2008	Zenato Ripasso del Valpolicella 2005 Zenato Ripasso del Valpolicella 2005 Region: Italy - Tuscany > Winery: Variety: Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese Well Structured, velvety smooth. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and 6-8 additional months in oak barrels. Crisp and dry in the mouth, velvety texture. This wine was a hit with the WTC (Wine Tasters Club). Big, rich, ripe, almost creamy cherry and black cherry, accented with hints of chocolate. A bit tannic bite which smooths out with extended air. - 02/19/2008		4/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5

A favorite of the WTC (Wine Tasters Club). A hint of almond and cinnamon on the nose with a taste of cherry, spice, and oak with a velvety finish. Intense, cherry, Medium-bodied. Drink slightly below room temperature to get the full tasting effect of this gorgeous Spanish wine. This wine is 100% tank-fermented and aged. The WTC (Wine Taster's Club) recommends this wine. Mostly Malbec with a bit of Cab and Syrah. Complex black fruit structure with a taste of oak. Long finish.
