Color: Medium banana yellow core, with light yellow edges.

Nose: White florals here, with sweetened peach and nectarine fruit notes.

Palate: While there is bright to zesty acidity here, this wine comes off heavy and still unbalanced to the offdry to medium sweetness. There are still good floral notes out into the peach fruited finish. - 06/03/2014

Floral, spicy aromas of lychee nuts, rose petals, clove-like spice and apricot among others. On the palate, the wine shows an oily texture typical of dry Alsatian Gewurztraminers.
Ratings
Reviewer, Jason R. writes, “Clean with spiced jasmine nose. Crisp and oily on the palate with mouth coating peach nectar and ripe pear flavors all backed by a nice acidity. Smooth, spiced and delicious with a lasting finish.” Reviewer, Richard Jennings writes, “Light straw yellow color; aromatic, roses, lychee nut, tart apricot, gardenia nose; appealing, oily textured, floral, lychee nut, tart poised pear, Asian spice palate with balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (tasty Gewurz, that would go great with Asian food, Thai noodles) Benito's Wine Reviews: The bottle opens up with rich honeysuckle aromas and gentle honey flavors though it is completely dry. Touch of spice on the finish with medium acidity. Highly recommended, and an excellent match for Thai or Indian food.

Color: Lightest yellow, with a medium robust, very large bead.

Nose: Fresh and clean, with light yellow apple and sweeter Meyer lemon aromas.

Palate: Light bodied, and less offdry for what I'd expect for an Extra Dry (sweeter than Brut). Again, a clean palate with yellow and green apple fruit flavors, and a lemon spritz towards the finish. This would do well in the club scene. - 06/10/2012

BSM: " Grape Variety
Garnacha 100%

Vineyards

Average age of vines>20 years old

Yield: 7,500 Kg/Hectare.

Terroir: The vines grow on low mountain hillsides with low yielding limestone soils at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level.

Serving recommendations
We recommend that you drink this wine during the warmer months of the year, between April and September, and that it is served at a temperature of 5C 6C.

Food Pairings

This wine is exceptionally good during the spring and summer, and when it is served well chilled it is particularly refreshing, sweet, and fruity.

We recommend you try it with savoury canaps and hors doeuvres, especially to create a contrast of flavours; it goes particularly well with pate and foie gras, smoked salmon, anchovies, cheese, and dried fruits and other salty snacks.

The wine making process
The grape must is selected, when it is bled from the selected grapes under their own weight, with a potential alcohol content of some 15%, so that during the low temperature fermentation process, once it has reached 13.5% strength we can stop the fermentation by lowering the temperature and using a centrifuge, and in this way the wine still keeps a sugar content of approximately 25 grams per litre.

Tasting Notes
Colour: A lively and bright raspberry pink with turquoise tinges. Intense sweet aromas, evoking raspberry jam and small fruits of the forest. Sweet and full of flavour on the palate, it is also refreshing as a result of it having just the right touch of acidity, along with a dash of natural sparkle."

Personal Notes

Tasted at the tasting room with Pops while on our Pops & Son 6th Wine Trip, 12/29/09, in Murphys/Calaveras County.
IV: "Tasting Notes:
Delightful aroma of honeysuckle, pineapple, and guava give way to complex flavors filled with melons, pineapples and spice. A refreshing, medium-bodied, dry white wine with a crisp finish.
Winemaker Notes:

The noble Verdelho grape, which has been cultivated in Portugal since at least the 1400s, has made its way to California setting its roots in Lodi where it flourishes in a similar Mediterranean-style climate. Its delightful aroma of honeysuckle, pineapple, and guava give way to complex flavors filled with fresh pineapple and spice. Our 2007 Verdelho is a refreshing, medium-bodied, dry white wine with a crisp finish.
Food Pairing:

The crisp fruitiness and acidity of Verdelho make it a perfect pairing for California cuisine. Try mixed field greens with avocado and mandarin orange slices topped with slivered almonds. Another excellent match is grilled shrimp with mango salsa.
Other Notes:
Blend: 100% Verdelho"
