From http://www.americaswineshop.com/127488 :

This wine has an intense fruity bouquet with a hint of golden apple. Brut, fresh and light in body, Mionetto Prosecco Brut is well-balanced and easy to drink.
The Wine Enthusiast A bigger style with more complex aromas that range from melon to honey to clove. An elegant product, with thick foam and golden luminosity that calls out for finger foods and antipasti. Score: 88. December 15, 2004.

WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS
This Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with ripe gooseberry, citrus lime, tropical melon and exotic herbal aromas. The wine’s layers of flavour excite and intrigue. It is a fresh and ripely flavoured wine with fantastic intensity, finishing with crisp and racy acidity.

WINEMAKING
The fruit parcels were harvested at varying levels of ripeness (between 21-24 brix) over a five week period. The fruit was crushed, pressed and cold settled at 6°C for 24 hours before being racked clean off lees for fermentation. Both neutral and aromatic yeast strains were used to read more...
inoculate the clear juice. The fermentation was conducted at 12-14°C to maximise retention of delicate flavour and aromatics.

VINEYARDS
The fruit for this wine is sourced from vineyards in Marlborough from the top of the Wairau Valley to the top of the Awatere Valley. This range of mesoclimates provides a range of flavour profiles and the ability to maintain continuity of style. The majority of the vineyards are grown on the VSP training method and special care is taken to maintain vine health, clean fruit and vine balance.

VINTAGE
The 2007 vintage was characterised by moderate yields and ideal growing conditions. Marlborough experienced poor flowering in December, resulting in a ‘tempering’ of yields. From the end of January to harvest rainfall was low and the days were sun-drenched allowing for fruit to be harvested in prime condition and at the ideal point in its flavour development and balance.

Jolly Rancher's Green Apple - 01/14/2008

overwhelming grapefruit nose led to a Jolly Rancher Green Apple flavor that would have been refreshing if kicked down a few pegs in volume. - 01/16/2008

Drank for Christmas Eve Family dinner party which included the traditional 7 fishes. This wine was obviously not appropriate for this meal and I am not sure I enjoyed the wine at all. Need to read some reviews to change my mind.
