Jun. 13, 2011	Luna Beberide Finca La Cuesta 2008 Luna Beberide Finca La Cuesta 2008 Region: Bierzo, Spain > Winery: Luna Beberide Variety: Finca La Cuesta Must note: I am having this after having a Cabernet Aroma: Smells like old books. Paper, reminds me of my great grandmother. Its pleasant, little perfumey. Palate: Very dry, strong tannins. For a red wine I'm getting a lot of white wine characteristics, pear is strong on the finish as well as some chocolate. Very light, drinks as a Pinot. Martini Variety: Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Hamburgers and Corn on a nice Sunday evening One of my favorite supermarket Cabs. Always available, 6,000 cases made a year. A QPR wine. Aroma: Black Currants with hints of cedar. Palate: Big and Bold it hits you right away letting you know you are drinking a Napa Cab. Dark Berries and Oak, but the oak is not overpowering, nice balance of all the flavors. Aftertaste leaves the palate with strawberries and licorice. - 06/12/2011		4/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5

Tasting Notes & Comments	One of my favorite supermarket Cabs. Always available, 6,000 cases made a year. A QPR wine. Aroma: Black Currants with hints of cedar. Palate: Big and Bold it hits you right away letting you know you are drinking a Napa Cab. Dark Berries and Oak, but the oak is not overpowering, nice balance of all the flavors. Jun. 12, 2011	James Cole Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 James Cole Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 Region: Stags Leap District, California > Winery: James Cole Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Purchased at trip to winery This is a 100% Cabernet. No blending Aroma: Deep dark fruits, blueberries, blackberries, and tobacco. Palate: A little tight. Definitely needs to age a couple of more years. Great acidity and tannins. Starts off with a burst of black berries then turns into a jammy raspberry with an aftertaste of a Padron 80th Anniversary Maduro cigar. A little heat afterwards. Found this at BevMo as part of their 5 cent wine sale. Curiosity made me buy this. Aroma: Cheese and meat... Palate: This wine is very smooth and has a really nice velvety texture. Very earthy with nice hints of red berries with low acidity and quiet tannins. However, this wine is very "Bretty" at the finish. Aroma: Dark berries and plum Palate: Full bodied, long finishing, great tannins. The aroma is very meaty and has lots of molasses. Good acidity and tannins. Good dark fruit flavors. However this wine is very thin and lacks substance and complexity. I found it at Grocery Outlet for $14.99. If this bottle was bought at $75 I would score it a 60. However, I did buy it at $14.99 so my score of 80 is accurate for that price. The Cab is very smooth but has ZERO fruit, all vegetal. If you like sour/bitter cabs but are very smooth, you may really like this. Not for me though. - 06/11/2011		2/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5

Jun. 11, 2011	Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2007 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 2007 Region: Oakville, Napa Valley > Winery: Robert Mondavi Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon Bought at Costco One hour in the decanter: I felt like I ate a board of oak while having a cherry lifesaver in my mouth and then rinsed my mouth out with rubbing alcohol. Letting it sit in the decanter for an additional 3 hours it changed considerably. It went from amazingly Oaky to very fruity with nice tannins. This wine cannot be pop n pour, it has to be decanted for at least 4 hours to let it develop, but it still has a rough alcohol burn at the finish that doesn't sit well with me. - 06/11/2011		3/5 Stars. 1 2 3 4 5
