"Pamela Geddes is a name you may be familiar with if you're a regular customer. If you're a newcomer, get ready to be impressed. Because one sip of this gotta-try-it Gran Reserva will tell you why she's such a fan favorite.

Valdepeñas (or, 'valley of stones') is well-known for its stunning, medieval castles that dot the hillsides. But for wine lovers, it's also prime hunting grounds for super-intense reds. Although locals have loved the region's wines for centuries, these lip-smacking finds are still a relative secret … for now. Passionate winemakers like Pamela are getting the word – and the wines – out there, and we can't wait for you to try this one.

Made with 100 percent Tempranillo from old, gnarled bush vines, Castillo Armado was aged five l-o-n-g years in oak barrels, followed by another two years of rest in the bottle. A soft, smooth and very mellow Gran Reserva that delivers intense flavors of dark berry fruit with lashings of vanilla and cocoa in the glass. Perfect with pork, beef, lamb, mature cheeses and more. You don't want to miss this." - Laithwaite's Wine - 04/09/2015

Decent, with two caveats:

1) Tons of sediment, could have dredged the bottom of the bottle, and

2) Caused really weird dreams - 03/21/2015

"Grapes are harvested at night, whole cluster pressed, and barrel fermented in neutral oak with 100% native yeast. Fifty percent of the wine undergoes natural malolactic fermentation until the ideal balanced flavors are achieved, enhancing the Chardonnay's softness and creaminess without
losing its freshness." ~ Winery Notes - 03/15/2015

Interesting blend, perhaps not as good as the 2011. - 03/14/2015

Deep, dark Malbec reigns supreme in Argentina, and it doesn't get much better than the Zuccardi family’s Mendoza vineyards. But for the last 15 years, this innovative family have also championed Tempranillo, the noble red grape of Rioja – with delicious results.

At the helm today is Sebastian Zuccardi, whose energy and commitment earned him recognition from Decanter magazine as one of the five most influential people in Argentine wine. It's no surprise then that he should create a brilliant blend made of 60% Malbec and 40% Tempranillo – as you'll taste, the dark richness of Malbec and juicy, red-fruited charm of Tempranillo enhance and balance each other very well.

Wine show judges and critics agree. Their 2010 Alambrado won kudos at the 2010 Decanter World Wine Awards. The 2011 received nods at the 2012 Wines of Argentina Awards. And this newly released 2013 has won medals at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London and scored a gold at the increasingly important China Wine Awards.

Look for mouthfuls of fresh, spiced-red fruit (strawberries, mulberry, cherry), dark chocolate notes and a long, intense finish. At home in Argentina, locals might serve this rich red with a plate of juicy, barbecued meat (big boss José Zuccardi is quite the grill master). If you’re ever at the estate for a visit, though, they’ll likely serve you their famous beef empañadas. You could also take a cue from Tempranillo's Spanish roots and try herbed lamb.

No matter what you pair it with though, this is a great wine to serve Malbec lovers – it's everything they love about the grape, with an extra, juicy twist. Hurry! - Laithwaite's Wine - 03/14/2015

Very nice but not worth the price. - 03/14/2015

California’s 2013 vintage is “set to equal the heights of 2012” (Decanter). This classy, barrel-aged Chardonnay from acclaimed winemaker Eric Johnson and the under-the-radar Arroyo Grande Valley and shows why.

This region enjoys long, cool growing seasons (ideal for Burgundian grape varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir). Eric harvested the fruit in the cool of the night to maintain freshness. After fermenting the grapes using their natural yeasts, he aged the wine in fine French oak (20% new) for eight months for a lovely, toasty vanilla complexity.

Eric grew up on a small farm on California's Central Coast. After studying wine and viticulture, he began working at the region's top estate. He quickly became head winemaker and makes "classy, elegant, long-lived Chardonnays … among the finest values for world-class Chardonnays that exist” (Robert Parker). Thanks to our longstanding friendship, he crafted this special cuvée just for you.

True to his farming roots, Eric believes that "the world’s greatest wines are defined by place as opposed to winemaking manipulation." For this elegant Chardonnay, he tapped two local vineyards. The Rincon Vineyard, planted in 1982 on steep, south-facing slopes brings bright citrus flavors and a trademark chalky minerality, while Las Ventanas (the area's newest site, planted on a stylish ranch) adds juicy orchard fruit notes.

Eric loves serving Olive Tree with grilled scallops or calamari. But it's also delicious with roast chicken or seafood pasta lightly tossed in olive oil. - Laithwaite's Wine - 03/14/2015

For many Chardonnay lovers, just hearing the word “Limoux” makes their mouths water in anticipation. This southern French appellation is home to seriously fine sparklers (Crémant de Limoux) and some of the world’s finest Chardonnay, many of which rival the top bottles from Burgundy.

You’ll taste for yourself with La Voûte. Mark Hoddy sourced premium grapes from the Astruc vineyard in Limoux Océanique. Here, vines planted almost 1,000 feet up soak in brilliant sunshine and chilly breezes, a combination that locks in ripeness, aromatic intensity and greater depth of flavor. Back at Mark’s “workshop” in Bordeaux (Le Chai au Quai), he fermented the juice in new oak barrels – a further eight months resting in barrel rounded out all the pure fruit flavors.

This exciting 2013 release is already making critical waves, scoring a bronze medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2014, where judges wrote:

“Rich nutty, spicy gunpowder, apricot and oak aromas, with acacia undertones. The oak-framed palate displays vanilla, honeyed fruit, melon-like acidity, ripeness and a creamy fruit moderate finish.”

It’s as delicious as they describe – serve in large glasses in order to release the aroma, then pair with chicken (roasted or drizzled with a creamy sauce) or grilled turbot. - Laithwaite's Wine - 03/07/2015

Tastes like a $50 wine, well worth $26... - 03/05/2015

" Deep, rich and well-sculpted red, with notes of granite to the dried plum, cherry and wild berry flavors that are supported lively acidity and medium-grained tannins. Long finish that echoes with graphite, mineral and hints of cigar box. Syrah, Carmenère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2018." ~Winery notes - 03/05/2015
