This is yet another outstanding release from Purple Mountain. This Zinfandel is loaded with plum and dark berry flavors with just the right amount of spice. The finish is lush with just a touch of mocha. Simply amazing for the price. - 07/11/2007

This wine is deep red to purple in color, the nose has cherry, red and black raspberry, currant and touches of licorice and chocolate. Like the past vintages, the wine is concentrated in the mouth that shows caramel, black pepper and cloves. The final taste profile brings the nose and mouth feel all together with a wonderful hint of ginger and fresh mixed fruits. This wine will develop nicely in 2 to 3 years, but right now don't miss the youthfulness of all the red and black fruits blending with a touch of vanilla from new oak barrels. |
