My Notes: WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS This Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with ripe gooseberry, citrus lime, tropical melon and exotic herbal aromas. The wine’s layers of flavour excite and intrigue. It is a fresh and ripely flavoured wine with fantastic intensity, finishing with crisp and racy acidity. WINEMAKING The fruit parcels were harvested at varying levels of ripeness (between 21-24 brix) over a five week period. The fruit was crushed, pressed and cold settled at 6°C for 24 hours before being racked clean off lees for fermentation. Both neutral and aromatic yeast strains were used to read more... inoculate the clear juice. The fermentation was conducted at 12-14°C to maximise retention of delicate flavour and aromatics. VINEYARDS The fruit for this wine is sourced from vineyards in Marlborough from the top of the Wairau Valley to the top of the Awatere Valley. This range of mesoclimates provides a range of flavour profiles and the ability to maintain continuity of style. The majority of the vineyards are grown on the VSP training method and special care is taken to maintain vine health, clean fruit and vine balance. VINTAGE The 2007 vintage was characterised by moderate yields and ideal growing conditions. Marlborough experienced poor flowering in December, resulting in a ‘tempering’ of yields. My Notes: from winemaker's website: Rich and ripe. The color of the 2006 Pinot Gris is yellow gold with beautiful flashes of emerald. Powerful aromatics are redolent of ripe citrus fruits, acacia flowers, tropical fruits (mango, papaya and kiwi), lychee, powdered sugar, honeysuckle, nectarines and pineapple. A concentrated wine with ripe acidity. The finish rolls seamlessly off the mid-palate and lasts forever. The lasting impression is a wine of great ripeness and opulence balanced by wonderful juiciness and succulence. The 2006 Pinot Gris will drink wonderfully for the next two years.

Pretty aromas of fresh young pear, honey, starfruit, honeydew, and flower. Bold and crisp mouth feel with generous flavors of pear, mineral, melon, and spice, interwoven with well-balanced acidity. The Pinot Blanc, picked very ripe, adds emollient mouthfeel, and contributes to the Alsatian style. While the Muscat adds flowery sweetness, the barrel fermented portions of the Auxerrois add a kiss of toast and richness. The quintessential match with salmon. Wonderful with cheese, shell�sh, chicken, salads and white �sh.

This medium-bodied wine displays vibrant aromas of black cherry, ripe raspberry and strawberry as well as bright red fruit flavors that are balanced with hints of tar, leather and vanilla. This cool climate Pinot Noir has an interminable finish. Enjoy with smoked duck breast, beet and endive salad, or roast pork shoulder with prune, apple and pistachio stuffing.

At 3,500 feet above sea level our vineyards in Mendoza are in the ideal location for growing the grapes that create Terrazas de los Andes Malbec. The strong tannins are not too powerful but should mellow a little more with time. At ten dollars a bottle, it is an excellent value and a wonderful wine.

My Notes: Someone else's review: A pleasant wine with taosty aromas of light peach, grapefruit and orange blossom. Similar on the palette but also nuanced with melon, quince, cream and a heavy chalky minerality. The finish is very bitter almond, almost too much so. Nice, but not a cocktail wine. Try to eat something with it to balance the almond finish. This is a wonderful sparkling Italian wine. I try to keep a few bottles on hand just for a light and refreshing drink with friends and family. An unbelievable price. This is a bit sweeter than most sparkling wines but not too sweet. Slight lemony flavor. A perfect summer porch drink.

My Notes: From random blog: As I was doing my "photoshoot" for this blog, I opened the wine to pour into our two glasses and went to work shooting some pix. The entire dining room filled with this wonderful, strong fruit scent while I took shots. I started salivating anticipating what the wine would taste like. The color was really dark purple - almost like ink. The taste was bitter first and tasted a bit like Robitussin cough syrup, then very spicy and peppery and dry. Slight fruit with a short finish ended it. I was disappointed based on how wonderful the initial room-filling aroma was. The taste didn't hold up to what I smelled. It definitely tasted better after having sat open for half an hour. It's a good wine for the price and would probably do best as a drinkable one to have on hand for casual entertaining. I bet it is a wine that will definitely improve with age.

My Notes: winemaker's notes: Grape Varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carmenère, 5% Syrah, 5% Malbec The color is an impressive intense ruby. The nose explodes with fruit: cherry, strawberry, raspberry, plum, light mint and black pepper. The oak and the toast of the barrels do not dominate the fruit and bring delicious aromas of coffee, tobacco, cinnamon and crème brûlée. In the mouth, the wine is wonderfully concentrated and juicy. The finish shows intense fruit of cherry and strawberry with a nice touch of licorice. Well balanced, without any heaviness, this velvety and luscious wine is delicious to taste.
