WineLog Mobile by Valentine’s Day
January 24, 2007 at 11:25 am
I just wanted to make official my commitment to have WineLog Mobile ready by Valentine’s Day, February 14th, 2007. The service will undoubtedly evolve over time, but here are the offerings we are planning for in this first release.
- All content will be formatted for viewing on a smaller screen.
- Access to your wine log.
- Wine info pages, with winery, variety, region, pricing data, comments, etc.
- Ability to search the WineLog DB.
- Ability to login and post a wine already in our DB to your wine log.
- Ability to login and send yourself messages (such as the vintage, variety, and winery of a wine you just drank) which will be emailed to you along with related links to log/comment/etc the wine in WineLog later.
I’m excited. Feel free to leave any comments, requests, or suggestions here. We’re still trying to figure out what the address of the new site should be. So if you have any comments on that topic, let us know too.
Jason Coleman is Co-founder of and Lead Developer for WineLog.net. Check out his wine log, read more of his blog posts, or contact him here.
I’m sure Kim will love it! Just be sure to wrap a nice red bow around it…:)
For the address, the best thing is to be modeless of course and autodetect from winelog.net. Next best is something simple and intuitive like m.winelog.net…
[...] I promised WineLog Mobile by Valentines Day, and here it is. Point your phone or PDA to http://winelog.mobi to get started. [...]
[...] So I’m inspired by Jason Calacanis to start blogging about my weight and diet in an effort to inspire some discipline in myself. I use blogs to make promises like having WineLog Mobile live by Valentine’s day, and it works there. So why not use a blog to help me lose weight? I’m hoping it will prove a great motivator because if I don’t lose any weight, I have to cope with the embarrassment of having all these posts out here and nothing to show for it. [...]
[...] Motivate us to meet deadlines and release features and fixes faster. If I tell you all that I’ll have something ready by x date, I work extra hard to not let you down. This worked really well for WineLog Mobile, where we challenged ourselves to have it live by Valentines day. [...]
