New Sponsor: Wine Library TV
We’re very proud to have the sponsorship of Wine Library TV. Gary Vaynerchuk, the energetic host of WLTV, tells us that we “get it” when it comes to wine. It’s a great compliment. What I think he means is that we agree with Gary that drinking wine should be exciting, fun, accessible, fun, and fun.
That’s right. We said fun three times. What about it?
The latest episode on training your wine palate is a great example of how fun things get. Gary goes through a table full of foods commonly associated with wine flavors and ingests everything from blackberries and apples to dirt and wet rocks.
As the Director of Operations at Wine Library, Gary has a ton of knowledge to impart. He has the kind of wine experience that could be intimidating if he wasn’t such a likable guy. His wine reviews are probably the most accessible you’ll find anywhere, with references to Cinamon Toast Crunch, Skittles, and the “Oak Monster”. Gary’s descriptions give you a great sense of the wine’s flavor. Watching the show, I can often smell and taste the wine like I can smell and taste the food while watching the Food Network.
If you’re a fan of wine (and if you’re reading this, I think you are) or if you just like great, high-energy television, you need to do yourself a favor and watch a few episodes of Wine Library TV. You’ll be hooked. Go watch some WLTV, then come back and thank me.
Seriously. Take a look. If you’ve already seen Wine Library TV, let us know what you think. Is Gary really the Jim Cramer of wine, the Robert Parker of Web 2.0, or just an annoying Jet’s fan?
