As you can see from the screenshot below, our own Dr. Xeno has become the official top logger at WineLog with over 870 wines logged. This guy is insane.
His closest competition is The Grand Hotel (a list of the wines available - or previously available - at that hotel) and Ryan Opaz (blogger at CataVino.net).

WineLog is Good for your Relationship

It seems that Jason and I aren’t the only couple enjoying WineLog together. Several WineLog users have listed in their profile that they are a husband and wife or girlfriend and boyfriend team, using WineLog together to track the wines they are trying together. Neat!

I’m sure every couple’s therapist would support a couple exploring a new passion or interest, so I am glad to see these types of users emerging on our site. Moreover, it’s hard to enjoy a bottle of wine on your own, without severely regretting it the next day, and it’s even more difficult to enjoy tasting several wines in one evening unless you are a twosome or more.

Cheer to you! This is just a quick shout-out to our great (and growing) user base. We’ve had some amazing growth in the last two months and wanted to thank you for being a part of our community. Not only have we seen the number of members growing, we have seen a drastic increase in logging, rating, and commenting on wines site wide. This type of increase is awesome because we know it is helping each and every one of our users get plenty more precise personalized recommendations (that’s a tongue twister!).

Also very rockin’ is the number of new members that have been submitting feature requests through our contact form. We are taking your ideas to heart and considering some minor (and major) overhauls of the site’s core functionality mainly due to the great feedback we have received. Please keep those ideas a flowin’!

Now, on to the good stuff…

WineLog User SkcrumeNot much wine activity for me over the weekend. So I thought I would use my post of the day to give props to a great wine logger: skcrume (Stephen Crume).

We missed a chance to mention Stephen when we praised user wloftus for taking the lead in number of bottles logged. Stephen has had 134 bottles in his log since the end of November, which also beats out Kim and I.

Stephen has great notes on about half of the wines in his log. He’s also rated most of those wines, which makes his log a great place to get ideas. I have skcrume as a friend and take note when he logs a new bottle.
