… same as the old boss. Actually, that time-honored quote doesn’t apply here. Things are NOT the same. We’re pleased to announce that we have brought on Bill Loftus as CEO of WineLog. Read the official press release: Top Tech CEO Takes Helm at WineLog.Net.
What does this mean for us?
A few nights ago, we had our first meeting since Bill’s offical appointment to CEO, and it was pretty tough. Dude’s got charts and figures gallore. He’s got us saying “strategy” nearly as often as we had been saying “just one more glass”. Bill is doing great in his new role, particularly in keeping Kim and I in line, motivated, and prepared for all that we have in store. Which is a lot
We’ve been working with Bill in an unofficial capacity for the past few months, so I can’t say we weren’t prepared for this type of meeting. However, the sheer organization and depth of conversation at our most recent meeting puts all previous ‘get-togethers’ to shame. It’s apparent now that Bill was taking it easy on us as Kim and I were caught up in wedding activities. Now? Now it’s a different game. I’m excited and ready for the challenge. And our users and followers should be too.
What does this mean for you?
With Bill on board to help (understatement) with the business and strategy duties, Kim and I will be able to allocate a greater portion of our efforts on releasing new features and composing interesting articles. Additionally, Bill will help us with what entrepreneurs like to call “growing pains” — which may involve (and likely will in our case) hiring additional personnel to help with development, marketing, and customer service. All good things for you, our community members.

[…] New Team Member: Bill Loftus Welcome top tech CEO Bill Loftus as the new CEO of WineLog. Bill’s take on his new role? “I’m a wine connoisseur and an entrepreneur and this business presents a unique opportunity for me to combine both of those passions.” Read the full article here. […]
[…] Bill (CEO of WineLog) did a quick little post on Wine Investing over at the WineLog blog and introduced me to a site called WineInvestor.com. A good site to learn about wine investing is wineinvestor.com. Wine Investor is collecting (in one place) all the types of information I would need to explore investing in wine. The guy that runs Wine Investor is from the financial services field, works with technology, and loves wine. What a killer resume. […]
