Finally, I ended up re-stocking my stash last weekend. I chose to try a few new ones that I will chronicle here. The first up: 2005 Torre Spina Valpolicella

The color was nice and dark, plumlike. The aroma a mix of berries and minerals. The taste was a decent bit of fruit with a little mineral finish. The biggest thing I noticed is that it tastes too young. It just doesn’t seem quite ready to drink. It seems a touch sour and could use some time. It isn’t all that bad. $6.50 at Total Wine. A very good deal, but would choose something different next time.

I am curious if this would be worthwhile a few years down the road. However, I don’t seem inclined to try at this point.

FYI Matt, The 2005 Torre Spina Valpolicella in by no means from Tuscany as your heading implies, but from the Veneto region of Northwestern Italy. Just thought you would want to know

I am sorry for the error. I blame Total Wine as I found this in the section marked Tuscany. I guess I need to get to Italy so I can know where these places are! :)
