I have a couple of exciting wines to try. After I taste them, I’ll let you know if you should get excited as well.

The first is a bottle of Stormhoek Pinotage 2005. I tried some Stormhoek wines at the Wine 2.0 event back in October, but they got lost in the crowd as I tasted somewhere around 20 wines that night. Good times! It doesn’t even matter whether or not the wine tastes good though. I’d still be excited because Stormhoek is the wine company that blew onto the blogosphere a couple years ago with the help of cartoonist and marketing genius Hugh Macleod.

The second exciting wine we picked up today was a box of Hardy’s Stamp of Australia Cabernet Sauvignon 2006. Last week’s wine blogging Wednesday was on box wines, or rather non-traditional enclosures. I’m not good about keeping up on my WBWs, so I didn’t have any good info on me other than the fact that Wine For Newbies wasn’t too impressed with Killer Juice.

We’ll be drinking one of these wines tonight over an episode of Battlestar Galactica. Awesome. I’ll be sure to log and blog about these wines after I try them.

[...] One of the wines Kim and I picked up last week was a box of Hardy’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 Box Wine. Overall, my first experience with box wines has gone well. [...]
