For those that don’t remember from my initial post, I am generally cheap when it comes to wine. It sometimes means I end up drinking bad wine, but many times it means I find hidden gems.

Tonight, I had to run to Target for a few items (the wife’s birthday is coming up). If you didn’t see another earlier post of mine, my local Target is now selling wine. They have an OK selection, and most are between $8-15. I picked up 2 bottles under $10. For future reference, I always tag those under10 so you can find them easily searching on the site.

For a long time, Cabs were too much for me. I liked lighter fare. They are growing on me as my palette refines and I try more. (They tend to be served a lot at business events I attend.) This Cab is nice and dark, more black cherry in color. Very light, somewhat fruity aroma with no real hint of spice. This could be the lightest Cab I have ever tasted. If you put it in front of me in a blind test, I would never guess it is a Cab. Not quite as light as a Pinot Noir, but could be confused with a Shiraz very easily. The taste dissapates quickly and has no real bite. Not a bad wine to drink, but don’t expect one of those BIG wines.

Happy Friday!
