Top Loggers 1-10-2007Congratulations to user wloftus, who now has the most wines logged at WineLog.net. Yesterday, he logged a whopping 209 wines. Before yesterday, Kim was the previous leader with 119 (kimannwall’s wine log). I wasn’t too far behind with 117 (jason’s wine log).

Wloftus cheated a bit because we imported his wines through a spreadsheet he had exported from his Cellar Tracker account. Kim and I massaged the spreadsheet and imported the data through a backend system we have. Eventually (maybe a month or two), we are going to release the same system to all users, which will be a big help to users who want to switch to us from other applications or users who have just been storing a lot of data in spreadsheets.

When the system was working smooth, it felt great. We were also able to identify a few snags that we are going to be able to iron out before all this goes live.

Also, mad props to user amandabowser who logged an impressive 36 wines… by hand. Thanks for the support.

It’s nice to be on top. I’ve now set my goal for the month to type in all the wines that I bought but drank right away. The 209+ is just what’s in my cellar today. Thanks for all the work on this site. I think it’s great.

[...] We missed a chance to mention Stephen when we praised user wloftus for taking the lead in number of bottles logged. Stephen has had 134 bottles in his log since the end of November, which also beats out Kim and I. [...]
