Hello, I’m andrew99bell, and I’m from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. Of course many of you will be thinking not a great hotbed for wines, well its time to think again. Through my postings and recommendations I hope to give people a greater insight into some of the great wines that we produce here in England.

At the moment we are heading towards winter here, so not a great time to head out to the vineyards. However, we are heading towards the festive season, so I’ll post a little on some of the great sparkling wines that we produce here, of course I don’t just drink English wines so there will be a smattering of some of the other great wines that I get to taste/drink.

Hopefully, with the onset of spring and summer I’ll get out to some of the vineyards, post some pictures and hopefully get to talk to some of the producers, so any questions start sending them in….I’ll ask the questions and then get back to posting them here on winelog.net.

Finally, in this introduction I’d like to thank Jason and Kim for inviting me to post here on winelog.net, on what is a fantastic site. Here’s too many great postings and hoping that the site goes from strength to strength. So one thing left to say, enjoy…well not quite….I’d love to hear from anybody about their favourite sparkling wines (as mentioned my next posting is going to be on English sparkling wines- but I would love to know what other people enjoy as their favourite festive season sparkling tipple).

Andy is our overseas-blogger, hailing from the United Kingdom. He writes not only about his love for all wines, but specifically his fondness of English wines, including Nyetimber and English sparkling wines. View Andy's Wine Log.

For those of you who can’t wait to get more of Andrew’s great writing, there is lots to take in at his wine log:

At 6 pages long (so far), Andrew has one of the most extensive wine logs on the site. His log is full of great insights and great wines. Try one of his favorites next time you’re stuck on what to drink.

Andrew, thanks for the kind words. We’re really looking forward to your writing here. Cheers.
